About the Position
Provides Executive Leadership for the Finance Agency and reports directly to the County Executive. Directs diverse fiscal activities ; performs financial and administrative planning; directs and administers the activities of the Controller/Treasurer, Tax Collector, County Clerk-Recorder, and Department of Revenue.

Health Actuary Job Description
Work independently on Health actuarial assignments including the annual valuation which includes: an analysis of assets , reserves and current premium adequacy, cash flow testing and analysis of adverse market conditions. Make recommendations or proposals for changes to the Program, and review of underwriting criteria and claims experience.
•Conduct complex analyses and develop independent premium recommendations in conjunction with the underwriter.
•Evaluate pricing assumptions and rates. •Forecast changes in risk profiles and their impact on premium rates.
Qualifications and Experience
Fellow with five years post ASA designation
Health experience ORASA with five years Post ASA designation experience
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of: Insurance principles and actuarial science particularly with respect to life, health and disability insurance and the financial structure of various types of life and health insurance companies.
Ability to: Make complex and extensive actuarial and statistical computations; appraise accurately from actuarial and statistical data the financial structure of life and health insurance companies examined; prepare difficult and technical actuarial statistical reports and correspondence; and to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
